Atletico Madrid Betting Odds 2025

Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid have gotten their do-or-die spirit back in 2025. Throughout the 2010s, Los Rojiblancos became one of the most difficult teams on the planet to play against with their willingness to grind out results week after week. Their relentlessness led them to two UEFA Champions League finals in as many years in 2014 and 2016, while they also picked up two La Liga titles as well, upsetting Spain's big boys of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the process.

Since that most recent success in 2021, they have struggled somewhat. But four years on since the goals of Luis Suarez, and Atleti are finally back.

A Series of Last-Gasp Strikes

This season, Atletico Madrid has scored a whopping 19 goals in second-half injury time so far, and perhaps the most spectacular of those came on February 25th in the Copa Del Rey semifinal away in Catalunya against the Blaugrana. The bookies made the hosts huge favorites to get the win and the upper hand ahead of the return fixture in the capital. Websites that allow betting on sports with bitcoin had priced them at 1/2, with the visitors a distant 4/1 underdog. A lot of people thinking about betting on sports thought the host team was a surefire winner in this particular setup.

It looked like those predictions were accurate heading into the game's latter stages. Barcelona led by four goals to two and the game seemed over. But despite trailing by two goals with just minutes remaining, Simeone's men managed to rally and steal a 4-4 draw from the Olympic Stadium, with Marcos Llorente and finally Alexander Sørloth netting late goals, the latter of which coming in the 93rd minute.

But it isn't the first time that the big Norwegian striker has downed Barcelona on their home turf in stunning fashion. In a La Liga clash back in December, Atletico had to endure a Catalonian onslaught. They managed to survive and with the game tied at one apiece deep into injury time, Sørloth would pop up with a scarcely believable 96th-minute winner that sent Atletico to the summit of the Spanish top flight.

And Barca aren't the only big guns Atletico have stunned late. Angel Correa netted a 95th-minute equalizer against cross-city rivals Real Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano back in September to steal a point. The Argentinian poacher also bagged a 93rd-minute winner against Paris Saint-Germain in the Parc Des Princes in the Champions League in November, scoring past Gianluigi Donnarumma with the last kick of the game.

Atleti's constant late-late shows have left them in contention on three fronts heading into the final months of the campaign. As well as that, they will also be heading to the United States in the summer to contest the revamped Club World Cup. But what are their chances of winning them? Let's find out.

La Liga

As we head into March, Atletico is firmly locked in a three-way battle for the La Liga crown. Reigning champions Real Madrid are the current league leaders, but both Barcelona and Los Rojiblancos are hot on their heels and just one point behind. Despite the close nature of the title race, it's Simeone's men who are the outsiders, but that won't bother them one bit.

They are currently priced at 9/2 to win the league, with Los Blancos an 11/8 second favorite and the Blaugrana a 6/5 frontrunner. But Atleti has been here before. Back in 2014 and again in 2021, they were a distant third favorite but they managed to upset the applecart on both occasions. Four years on from that most recent success, they will fancy their chances once again.

Atletico have already played both their title rivals away from home, and they haven't suffered defeat once. Their crunch clash against Barca on March 16th could make or break their hopes, but if they come through that unscathed, then yet another shock title win under El Cholo could be just around the corner.

UEFA Champions League

Atletico has the toughest task of anyone in the Champions League as they will face off with their archrivals Real in the Round of 16. Los Blancos have held a stranglehold over the tournament, unlike anything we have seen before, over the last 11 years. They have lifted the trophy on no fewer than six occasions during that time frame, including last season when they defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley.

As such, it will come as no surprise that Atleti is a 22/1 outsider to win the tournament for the first time. Meanwhile, their rivals are the 9/2 joint favorite.

Another worrying point is that Atletico have never beaten their rivals on the grandest stage. Between 2014 and 2017, the pair of capital city enemies met in four straight seasons, and Real won on every occasion. To make it even worse, two of those meetings were in the final.

But one thing that will give Diego Simeone hope is that his team has played their nemesis twice this season and they remain unbeaten, Their never-say-die attitude will serve them well on the continental stage, and if they can somehow defeat Carlo Ancelotti's side, then they will have already dispatched their biggest possible test on the road to Munich.

Copa Del Rey

Atletico's recent 4-4 draw in the away leg of their semifinal against Barcelona leaves them in pole position to progress to the final. If they can do this then, as you might have guessed, Real Madrid will await in the final - providing they pick up their expected victory against Real Sociedad. But unlike in the Champions League, Atletico do have some hope to cling to about facing their greatest rivals in this competition.

Back in 2013, Atletico beat Real in the Bernabeu to claim the Copa Del Rey for the first time since 1996. This year, they may well have to do it again, and the bookies make them a 100/30 shot to do exactly that.
